GIRLS AND EMPLOYMENT

Quick bits of the day.

I shall not mention who this guy is except that he drives a BMW 3 series. Anyway, listen to what this dude has to say ..

I was in his car on the way for cell group last saturday and I casually asked,

"hey, do you think this whole saori thingy will work out?"

Thus he replied,

"yeah, it's good to have an offshore account!"

I WAS LIKE WHAT THE ...

*blood sweat streamed down my cheeks*

And I retorted that if he insisted, I could get him a few overseas account too because Saori has 2 sisters! RAR! This is pure wickedness!

I repeat, WICKEDNESS!

Alright, let's re-evaluate this shall we? Despite the fact that a relationship is somewhat a variant of an investment alike shares, stocks or property, you do not blatantly say so! I shall share with you how a relationship is much akin to a job employment instead!

This is my personal belief, hypothesis, theory, ethics, morale, code of conduct, whatsoever.

In my opinion, it is perfectly fine (nothing wrong) or should I esteem honorable to date many many people. Before you conceive the idea of going out with someone on a special date, you probably would have taken the person's first impression, outward personality, physical appearance, social background, et cetera into consideration before making your move.

Your heart pounds like a machine gun as he appears at the corner of your eye, "Aww.. this guy seems kinda nice when I talk to him and he plays tennis. Gee, he's cute too! Ahh"

I call that the resume process. Before you decide to let someone in your company, you check out her qualities first. But then again, most resumes are extravagantly authored so you can't really trust them anyway. Now it seems that pretty Beatrice's qualifications are pretty, shall we say, up to expectations and you decide to give her a temporary place in your company.

The temporary position, commonly known as the probationary period is the dating process.

So you embark on your sweet little courtship as you begin to know your partner a little bit more each passing day. Of course, courtships are so sweet at the beginning, it can cause sugar diabetes. One after another, there will be flowers, cards, movies, holding hands, talking on the phone, walking together, making out ahem, sharing beautiful moments.

And suddenly, BANG!

You discover one day that she has been two-timing you! Your heart shatters into a million pieces and you finally decide that the relationship is over. In other words, you ditch her.

Back at the office, Mr Supervisor calls Beatrice before his desk and broke the news, "Sorry women, your probationary period has ended and the company has accessed your conduct and deemed that you're unsuitable for the position. Bye!"

So much for my interesting analysis! 5 cents worth! Click on the comment link to tell me what you think about this. Hah!

And check what's on my notice board!

SHOPPING

I have been officially informed to shop for clothings to be worn on the day of the Emerge competition.

And I was just engrossed with the skinny red tie!

MUSIC, THE PAST AND ME

Forget Beyonce, Mika or Nelly Furtado for a moment. And take a listen to Kings Of Convenience. And if you're wondering, no - it's not a movie title.

I have been glued to this track - I Don't Know What I Can Save You From. The same rhythmic riffs that pleasure my ears. The melodious guitar solos that make me press repeat upon each listen. Yes, they're musicians! You finally learnt!

Enough said, go check out http://www.kingsofconvenience.com/

Average looking duo. Classically trained. Two classical guitar. Low octave vocals.

And their music just captured my heart again.

A singer-songwriter friend of mine who started writing at the age of 9 once commented that spoon-fed Singaporeans are highly dependent on the radio and that their music influence is limited to what's blazing on their stereo.

Yeah, we all know about Electrico, Linsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, Justin Timberlake, Britney on her rehabilitation program and Paris Hilton heading to jail. And we miss out on the fine musicians like Jimmy Eat World, Tori Amos and ahem .. me! Haha!

Anyway, I went to print some 100 photos this evening. And gee, they only cost 20 cents per print. So it costs me 20 bucks for the 100 prints. And darn, they don't provide free photo album! I need to haunt for a super big one to contain 100 photos. Or you could just bless me with one! Hah!

As I was looking at the photos, I found myself smiling sheepishly as I recall the memories of the past. I guess the time when I was most happy was when Bitter Liberty first started. Our band did not play the best music nor have staged the greatest gig but surely, we had the greatest time. I really miss those times.

And also this girl who appears in my mind from time to time. Kinda funny, but I don't have an explanation for it.

I wish I could go back to those memories of innocence.

HARD TIMES

When I think about tomorrow, all I can think of is guard duty after work at 4. And to many people, guard duty is perceived as an unnecessary chore and pretty much the worst activity next to field camp. Guard duty make you feel like a watch-dog, a condominium security officer and giving you barely enough sleep to last the next day. One of my friend even suggested that the army should employ CISCO guards to watch over our camps. Hah. How ridiculous! But as the saying goes, there is two sides to a coin. And the only one thing that I can thank God for during duty is time with Jesus.

When I prowl, I talk to God. When I am a sentry, I sing to God too. And very often, it keeps me vigilant.

Many things have occured lately. And most of which are heart wrenching and causing me alot of grief. Thankfully I'm learning to cope with hope from God and support from my cell group leader and the closer friends in cell. One guy even wrote me a note to encourage. With all that kindness and support shown, my mind literally distincts the cold and self-gratifying world from the warm and ever loving family of God.

How can I live without God and His people? I can never imagine.

SOME SONGS

I received the following email. Ahhh.. this one's from Australia!

hey

my girlfriend's into filming and the like, and she sent me 'the letter' on youtube. the film was good, but mate your song's amazing. have you been signed yet? i wasn't aware that singapore had a music scene like that...

you should get yourself on a plane and come to sydney, cos there's a massive pub culture where live performers get scouted by talent spotters. that's how most of australia's newest talent get found.

anyway... just ranting now. great song. good luck, i'm gonna watch out for you!

john from sydney

ps- singapore rocks.

THE BLUES

The blues has finally hit me. No, I'm not talking about the 12 bars blue or the crazy guitar licks by B.B King. The theatre people call it the post-production blues.

It's basically a sucky feeling that makes you frown.

We've submitted our short film last sunday for the competition. Really thank God that we managed to chiong everything on time despite all the sickly guard duties and clashing schedules.
Also, the video has been uploaded to youtube. But due to the nature of its content, I've restricted the video and set it unavailable to public viewership. But if you're interested, let me know so that I can send u a private link. (: WINKS!

Life, suddenly feels abruptly devoid of mid-night shootings, brain-storming, scripts editing, and crashing over at each other's houses. And this is causing me some distress. Alright, and the culprit - PPB or Post-Production Blues. I remember the last time I had this was after the staging of Boom Baby Boom musical at The Arts House, Old Parliament. Everyone in the cast was so sad and missing one another. And things only picked up after a few months.

Boom Baby Boom Cast in 2005.

And I stumble across this one I took with Dee. Gee, she had really nice hair back then. And I kinda miss her now.

RANGE

Phew, I'm back home at 2.30AM.

I had Range and - arghhhh - I did not get my Marksmen!

No worries, God's still glorified cus I passed! And I think I scored like 1 - 2 points below the standard to hit Marksmen. And for that matter - I barely passed Range during BMT.

PLAYER ME

Pardon me but I have to start my blog with something daunting.

Nellie just commented that I gave her the vibes of a player!

A PLAYER? WHAT THE?

Okay look, what do you make out of a guy who prefers NEWSWEEK & PC MAGAZINE over FHM & MAXIM?

Dude, it's me! Hah!

Some shots on family day.
